Storage Advice
Sofas would be better stored on their end to maximise space.
Beds, wardrobes, tables should be dismantled wherever possible.
Fridges & freezers should be fully defrosted, cleaned & left with doors ajar.
Use wardrobes & chest of drawers to store boxes, giving you extra room.
Boxes should be filled to capacity if possible to avoid tipping when stacked.
Store heavy items in smaller boxes.
Allow large & heavy items to form the base of the storage. with lighter items on the top.
Wardrobe boxes will help your clothes keep their shape.
Clearly mark boxes with its contents, room & whether the contents are fragile.
Use bubble wrap to protect your TV, stereo, furniture & pictures.
Pictures & mirrors should be stacked upright to prevent breakages.
Remove batteries from electrical items to avoid corrosion.
Clean garden equipment & make sure your lawnmower is drained of petrol.
Position items you will need frequently at the front of the unit.
Cover your belongings with dust sheets.
Insure your goods. (This is compulsory. We can provide this if your house insurance does not already cover your goods.)
